Located on a 12-acre campus, the State Museum of Natural and Cultural History includes permanent exhibits on Hawaiian history, culture and the natural sciences; rotating exhibits and interactive displays; daily demonstrations by folk artists and live performances of music and dance


 
  Collections: The museum‚s reputation as a major scientific research institution is based upon its extensive collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts, insects, marine and land shells, plant, bird and mammal specimens. Collections include anthropology (ethnology and archaeology), botany, entomology, and zoology (ichthyology, malacology, vertebrate and invertebrate zoology).

Programs and tours: Guided tours of galleries conducted daily at 10:00 am and noon; school tours, education programs for children and adults, living history programs, docent/teacher training programs; permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits; field trips and excursions, lectures, films, seminars; conservation services; and consulting services.

Special events: craft demonstrations, hula performance; daily behind-the-scene tour at 1:00 pm, add $15 to admission fee

Membership: Bishop Museum Association: Family $45, Friend (Individual) $35, Senior $35, Grandparents $40, Family & Friends $60, Patron $100, Benifactor $250, and Visionary $500.

Facilities: rental facilities available, handicap access (call to inquire - may be limited); Shop Pacifica, library/archives; planetarium, 77 seats; meeting facilities, capacity approximately 300; exhibit space; 12-acre campus; cafe/restaurant; picnic/dining area.

Parking: Bishop Museum is fortunate enough to have an abundance of parking at our site. We have several lots for the public to use.

The newest edition of Bishop Museum, the collection showcases the rich history and customs of the Hawaiian people, and tells the story of life in Waikiki.

The Center tells the story of life in Waikiki for both commoners and the ali'i, using cultural interpreters, music and dance, priceless artifacts from the Museum's collections and unique activities. There is a nominal admission charge for entry to the Center. A Hawaiiana shop specializes in one-of-a-kind, handcrafted merchandise from the Islands.

Bishop Museum Collection at the Hawaiian Arts & Culture Center is a partnership between the prestigious Bishop Museum and the Hilton Hawaiian Village occupying 8,560 square feet in the resort's new Kalia Tower.


 
  Collections: Artifacts from the collection of the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum are used in exhibits that showcase finely crafted wooden bowls, utensils and stone implements used during pre and post European contact periods, fabric created from the bark of the mulberry tree, historic surfboards, exquisite feather lei and capes belonging to Hawaiian nobility as well as personal artifacts from Hawaii's Victorian monarchs.

Membership: Membership is available through the Bishop Museum\'s main Kalihi campus, and members are allowed free year-round access to both museums as well as many special events and other great discounts.
