Open 9:00am to 5:00pm. Closed Tuesdays and December 25.
Admission: Free Admission to Bishop Museum Members; Adult $ 15.95; Senior, 65 & over $ 12.95; Child (ages 4-12) $ 12.95; Child (age 3 & under) Free; Kama'aina and military visitors to Bishop Museum:$8.95 - General Admission and $7.95 - Child (4-12) and Senior (65+) (An ID is required to secure these rates.
Guests visiting the Bishop Museum who are not local residents or military, but are accompanied by someone who is can get a special rate of adults $12.95, youth $9.95, and children 3 and under are free. Collections:
The museum’s reputation as a major scientific research institution is based upon its extensive collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts, insects, marine and land shells, plant, bird and mammal specimens. Collections include anthropology (ethnology and archaeology), botany, entomology, and zoology (ichthyology, malacology, vertebrate and invertebrate zoology).
Programs and tours: Guided tours of galleries conducted daily at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm; school tours, education programs for children and adults, living history programs, docent/teacher training programs; permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits; field trips and excursions, lectures, films, seminars; conservation services; and consulting services.
Special events:
craft demonstrations, hula performance; daily behind-the-scene
tour at 1:00 pm, add $15 to admission fee
Membership: Bishop Museum Association: Dual/Family $50, Friend (Individual) $35, Senior $35, Family & Friends $65, Patron $100, Benefactor $250, and Visionary $500, Charles Reed Bishop Society.
Facilities: rental facilities available, handicap access (call to inquire - may be limited); Shop Pacifica, library/archives; planetarium, 77 seats; meeting facilities, capacity approximately 300; exhibit space; 12-acre campus; cafe/restaurant; picnic/dining area.
Parking: Bishop Museum is fortunate enough to have an abundance of parking at our site. We have several lots for the public to use.
